It's time for a meal, but I don't feel like making anything. Whether it's because I'm sick, or tired from a long hour of dealing with shenanigans on the playground at school. At times like this, I just want to sit down, relax and eat, because I'm hungry, but I don't want to make anything. I'm sure you can relate! When Living Diet Free, it can be easy to fix a fat burning meal with little effort. Here are a few ideas on how to make delicious meals that I have found for moments like this. All you need is a quick source of protein, a fast carb, and if you want, a slow carb to go with it!
One go to meal that I love is Greek yogurt and granola. The Greek yogurt is my protein source and the granola is my fast carb. I can add blueberries if I want for my slow carb, and that in itself is a fat burning meal! Another thing you can do is take a cup of regular yogurt, mix it with one cup of Greek yogurt, add a cup of blueberries, and a tsp of honey for sweetness, and that is a fat burning meal as well! Another thing I love to do with Greek yogurt is make a fat burning smoothie! It makes the smoothie tangy and creamy...so good!
Another protein source that I love to use in quick meals is cottage cheese! A classic meal from my childhood in the summer when the house was too hot for cooking is cottage cheese and fruit. We usually had the canned fruit variety, peaches, pears, fruit cocktail. Fresh fruit could also be used. Just remember to have one serving of a fast carb fruit, like banana, cantaloupe, apple, etc. You could also add a serving of a slow carb fruit, like berries, for example. Another meal I like to make with cottage cheese is chips and salsa with cottage cheese! I mix 1 cup of cottage cheese with 1/4 cup of salsa, then eat with corn chips. I love the flavors of the three ingredients together! You can also add cottage cheese to mac and cheese as well!
I also like to incorporate protein powder in my quick meals as well! Mostly, I will add a scoop to my cereal, oatmeal, etc. I also use it in my smoothies, with vanilla flavor being my go to! Every now and then, I just want a peanut butter sandwich, and that, in itself, is a great fat burning meal as well!
I hope you find these tips helpful! Please feel free to ask questions or to give more ideas!
